MoonHawk Squadron: Assault on the Tether Satellite

Hi everyone,

A squadron of fighter jets climbing from low altitude into the stratosphere to ambush a massive Tether satellite.

Technical highlights:

Geometry Nodes drive all destruction and explosion FX—no simulations, just procedural node setups for shattering panels, debris scattering.

Vapor trails are also procedural: I used a simple mesh emitter with geometry nodes

Cheers,

Amazing work - absolutely love it. Congrats!

Like watching a movie. Satisfying! Very nice. :grinning:

That’s crazy good. I miss those kinds of shows. And that kind of work.
That’s beautifully intricate.
Sure hope to see more of this.

Woha. Now that was impressive.
The only thing which seperated this from a Cinematic by say Blizzard or Blur Studios is it would probably have had some voice over radio chatter in that case (or so I imagine).

A technical question: What did you use for the volumetric clouds/nebulae? Embergen? Houdini?

greetings, Kologe

Thank you

I am always eager to see what you have done in :blender_logo_64_png: .

This is amazing, absolutely professional work! I love the fighter jets design, too. Btw, what is a tether satellite?

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

You’re on the featured row! :+1:

I have to say: these shots are very well done. They somehow remind me of a scene in The Wandering Earth II, the one where the space elevator’s system gets hacked, leading to the destruction of the space station.

wow! The sensations are here! super nice work congrats!

Great work man

Amazing. Love it.

Fantastic! You could make a short film.
