I am unsure if this is the correct forum to request advice or help on this, but here it goes.
I’m currently working on a project where I have one very long video shot which is primarily of a human eye - an extreme closeup. Because of the extreme closeup, details are important.
I have modelled the eye in accordance with the “PIXAR looking eyes tutorial” but it is not good enough as it is toonish.
I need some help, advice or guidelines on how I can make my eye more realistic. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but at least move me more towards that goal.
I’m not a brand spankin’ noob with Blender, so aside from the Blender interface, I’m looking for some help with a workflow I guess.
It used to be free, so I have the files and I can say they are worth far more than the 8 bucks they’re asking. Perhaps there is something you can do to earn ten bucks.
or you can just search for some high res eye textures and use those photos to texture your eyes, they’ll look pretty realistic with the photo textures.
The only thing that gnomonology tut has is an alpha gradient going from the white into the iris. Other than that it is exactly the same as the tut I just linked. for photo-realism though, use the photo textures and modify them to suit your needs.
>>EDIT - and don’t forget to use a bump map too. It will give the iris and veins more depth.
