While I was working on a model, this happened:

What is your brush strength set at?
It is shown on the toolbar - normal.
From the few things shown, it looks normal. Can you upload a file with this problem?
I saved a file in order to upload it, then I re-opened it and now everything works.
So the bug was corrected with Blender’s re-initialization… but still remains hidden.
Same thing is happening to me.
If it works after reloading, you might have changed a parameter and didn’t save it.
It happens all the time, rather from different reasons, and it recovers by saving and reloading -there are not any non-saved parameters, except obviously for some internal -unknown ones.
For the moment, the bug escapes…
Sometimes plugins start to make Blender do funny things for me. Uninstalling all the plugins not needed might fix the problem. Generally I find the plugins that come with Blender to be more stable and not a problem. The third party ones can do funny things and make it crash for me.
Apparently this bug has been fixed in 2.83 Beta (Date 2020-05-22 19:52). I’m working for hours with no such issue. In 282a it appears every few minutes.
