Motorcycle

Another render to feed the portfolio monster. This was rendered using Blender internal. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate AO ignoring reflections. I would love to change the lighting and re-render. However, this thing takes roughly 12 hours to render, so that will be a project for another day and Im calling this finished for now!

cool motorcycle… Maybe you can give some of us who could stand to get some modeling skills cough me cough a tutorial.

Theres nothing too special about the modeling technique, just regular old subdivision. Pick one mechanical part and model it in as much detail as possible. Then model the next part and start assembling them until you run out of parts.

Woah, this puts my motorbike to complete shame :frowning:

but ive only been doing this for 2 months so its ok

Sweet work though, just curious, what technique did you use to get the circular holes in the brake disks?

nice bike, but the brake disk seems off, check it again, looks likes its melting. but over all, cool bike. maybe you should separate the rim and the brake disk (front tire)

check the above link
bye the way…love the bike

I went ahead and redid these renders. I couldnt get the reflection to work the way I wanted, so I just did the left and right sides separately.

@Tedcase: Make a disk and add a couple of edge loops through the center it lengthwise, then go back through and select alternating squares along the top and bottom rows in a checker pattern. Extrude those faces and scale them (set transform manipulator to individual centers) part way down, then delete the faces and skin the edge loops in between. Subdivide the model the square holes turn into circles.

@lllstrikesmemb2: Unfortunately, its for my portfolio. If I give out the model and other peoples renders start floating all over the internet it raises questions about exactly who did the modeling.

@blahblahken: The rim and break disk are separate. I should probably move the retaining edge loops out a bit to get a bit of extra sharpness there, or maybe put something more interesting on the ground for the surface to reflect…but Im already onto another project so I dont know when/if I would be able to go back and make that change.

its nice…but theres ALOT of work that could be done to it…
