This is my attempt to make a foggy morning up in the mountains! What do you think?
you’ve got the foggy and morning parts down, but not really the mountains. they look flat, unless of course if that is what you were going for, then It is really good.
its a good start but the forgound needs work. even on a foggy day the camera would be able to see immidiatly in fornt of it. so the ledge that the camra is on should be nicly textured under the haze
Looks great! If I may, I have one suggestion that might help improve the image a bit.
If you want to make the mountains look… well, massive (as most mountains are :p) to add to the realism, adding a foreground and a middle ground would help.
If this helps at all, here’s a render of a mountain range that I put together a while ago (ignore the sky showing through at the bottom; it didn’t matter in the final image since I added elements in front of it):
And here’s the same render (with a bit of post-processing) with a foreground and a mid ground:
Note that the mountains seem larger in the second image simply because there are elements in front of it to compare the size to.
Anyway, this is just a suggestion. I’m not sure how far you were going to take this image, but I really like it, especially the atmosphere it sets
Good job no need change a thing. The sun looks like it is going nova or something but that is just the camera.
very very true, but good work on the compositor
I like this render, it’s right that the images looks flat, but you can fix that with some light tuning, i think it’s original.
Maybe a new render with some more depth ?
That is true some of the time, but actually, if you are standing near the edge of a fog, especially on the lip of a hill, and looking out, things will be a uniform fogginess, or even getting clearer farther away! (Except for a few feet in front of you.) LOL, there’s all kinds of fog up where I live. BUT, I agree that for a humid atmosphere like this, and added dynamism, some intensely detailed ground right in front of the “picture taker” is going to make the image look more real, and as a result more SURreal looking at the mountains through a haze. Either way, it’s a beautiful and quite believable affect you’ve achieved!
