Moving from 2.49 to 2.60, some questions

Where do i find this in version 2.60: http://piclair.com/data/w6ke4.jpg

Can it be set to default like i have in that picture? Or they never fixed that? It’s a real nuisance to have to change that every single time you load a model (yes all my models make heavy use of alpha channels). The above should be default since it doesnt hurt models that doesnt use the alpha channel, only the models that do use it…

Might have some more questions later on  Thanks.

is this the same thing:
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Textures/Influence/Material

in prefs under opengl there is a clip alpha setting, but I don’t think thats what you want.

Those settings have been moved to the Material panel of the Blender Game mode but are unavailable anywhere while you’re in Blender Render mode.

The main problem is that the alpha blend is always by default on Opaque and so continue to affect the viewport (when in Mutitexture mode) when you add a material while using a texture with alpha channel while you are in Blender Render mode, so even if you’re not working on the game engine, you’re always forced to switch to Blender Game mode to change this alpha setting then go back to Blender Render mode to continue to work.

I reported this here :
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=31294&group_id=9&atid=498

If you don’t know yet in 2.60 how to switch to Blender Game mode to change those settings, it’s here :

Doh, so they managed to make it even worse? I guess i’m sticking with 2.49b. I could probably go to that setting and change it with my eyes closed, i must have changed it a million times by now, lol.

Seems like a rather basic feature to have, can’t believe how little priority such an important feature seems to have  I almost never work with .blend files though, i export to other formats so for me this is a larger problem than for people that usually work with .blend files and only need to change this once for every model and not every single time you load it.

What’s the shortcut for Center to Cursor in Blender 2.6? If there isnt a shortcut where can i find the function… space (search) doesnt come up with anything useful.

Is there a reference sheet somewhere with all the shortcuts?

Seriously dude, what is your problem? Take an hour off your calender to learn 2.6x dammit!

What’s the shortcut for Center to Cursor in Blender 2.6?

The shortcut is Shift+S

space (search) doesnt come up with anything useful.

The key is ‘Less is more’, try searchin for ‘center’.

For center read origin in 2.6

There is an Origin button in the toolshelf or Shift+Ctrl+Alt+C shortcut or search or origin or use the options in the menus

Sorry i actually meant “Center Cursor”, the function that changes the center of an object, if i want the center to be a bit below the object for example. Searching for “center” using space doesnt give me any hints…

2.6 does have some really nice features, i really like that you now can save favorite folders, saves me a lot of time.

Edit: ah i searched for Origin and found it, thanks!
