Could anyone help me out with making a mushroom cloud in cycles using GPU?
im looking for a hugely realistic atom-bomb looking mushroom cloud (even better with an O-ring?)
i seemed to spend WAYY to much time trying to cache/bake it than changing settings…
seems like it will be one of them wishes that ill have to do some other time
looks pretty awesome, could we skype and i have a quick run through of how you got there?
and whats your render time for that animation on what hardware?
well i rendered it at 100 samples a frame and it took a little more than a minute per frame so i left my computer on overnight
i used the CPU (i7) to render this clip.
the cloud itself is a mesh with a moving cloud displacement and shaded with a volumetric shader.
inside the cloud is a second smaller cloud with a emission shader.
