I can see it but, there is a certain design flaw that is in plain sight. The head from the eyebrows up and the back looks out of shape and here’s why. When you made the head, you made it with out thinking about where her hair line starts and where the rest of the hair branches out. What you need to do is to correct it by making a head with out any hair first using a picture that is completely bald. That way you know you got the shape done correctly before you add the hair.
to remind you
1st i dn’t have a bald ref.
2nd the skull is going to invisible because of the hair, so it wont matter, as long as the hair is nice
and more critique please
Hehe, more Naruto fans here than I thought XD…
Well, I gotta say that, I tried making an anime head once (in the AC, FFXIII style), & from what I could see, even these drawn heads have some perspective distortion that artists actually train themselves to draw, so you still have to proximate with this…
For example, the jawline could be a little lower & wider than it initially looks; try to make the model fit the reference while in perspective mode (you may have to open the image in another viewer), if the model looks different than the reference then you have to do some tweaking …
Also I noticed the head looks somehow “squashed” from the side; technically the proportions of the side of the head are square, i.e. the height is the same as the length…
Hope this helps , I really want to see this model finished <3
Btw, are you aiming at a more realistic look like FF, or more cartoon like in this PS3 game?
Sorry for large image :o
no I’m looking for narutowish look >>>>>>>> shannaro
but as i said the character wont show up as the character until the hair is maid
Take a look at these pictures. Normally, you can find this on Google. But I used this as a basis for my characters except when it comes to the eyes. I created them based off of another picture. But here’s the thing, the skull will never be in visible because it complements the shape of the head. Regardless on what type of hair you use rather be it be planes, geometric meshes, or a combo of both, the skull will always be needed to create a decent head. Anyway try them out as see if it fits you.
Hey bat3a, no more updates? O.o…
Come on!, you have to finish it now
Pssssssssssssst…
Anyone there? O.o
sorry for me not answering and that because of my HDD being exploded although its a new WD caviar 1tb and still under warranty, so im trying to recover my files and will be back as soon as i can>>>>
i want to FINISH it too
sorry for the long wait, i didn’t had anytime from weeks, and blowing my HDD made me frustrated, i lost the model which i spent 4 hours making, but anyway good things happen too i remodeled the head in about 3 hours time AND in better topology.
here is the new wire view:
Hi bat! Your script is part of my everyday workflow, I will get back to coding and trying to help improve it with suggestions soon.
The model is looking nice, the topo is indeed improved. You are missing one important loop, that you cannot pose well without. See the attached photo. You could also use a complete loop around the nose.
@3dementia: ahhhh… about the nose i really suck in here, do you have any topology guide for the nostril ?, and what is the loop u marked for
That is the smile loop. It allows transfer of tension from the spreading of the smile to the cheekbone area. It also allows smile and frown lines, very important for facial animation.
I basically use Jonathon’s technique for the nose, but he has improved it since this tut I’m sure, as have I, by adding an isolating loop around the nose.
Just to show the smile loop in use (and showing off your beautiful script with my little tweaks)… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr2YCEGrULI If this character didn’t have that loop there would be bunching and pinching with the strong emotions.
Also when sculpting shape keys on a higher density mesh, you will be thankful for it.
@3dementiua i tried to add loop but it corrupt the mesh a lot, so i’m saving that till i do the shape keys and test it if it will cause me trouble.
anyway here is the ear:
i don’t like anime that much
i don’t like anime that much
will thanks for the comment anyway
hi everyone
i added the hair today it took about 4 hours total, critiques are welcome
@bao2: i downloaded the file and i learned some topology things from it, thanks.
here is anew shots, i added head strip and tweaked the nose and the mouth
