thanks for this great addon, but I am still can not make it work for me
I am using 3dsmax2010, and blender2.6.2, but the export from 3dsmax is worked, but the import process will crash my blender2.6.2 and I tried 2.6.3. no luck
can you fix this ?
With Max 9 I’m getting the FileIn exception when trying to run the max script. I’m not at all familiar with 3DSM (or Blender for that matter) so any help would be appreciated as Google turns up nothing.

Where do you insert the: blender2.5.2/.blender/scripts/*io?
Download the zip file at http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Import-Export/3DS_MAX_Scene_Interchange
In the User Preferences / Addons panel press the ‘Install from File’ button at the bottom of the window and select the zip file. Then enable the addon
Is it working properly with latest versions of Blender?

Seems to ok work in Max 2014 and blender 2.68
One blast from the past, I was trying to use these files from https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Import-Export/3DS_MAX_Scene_Interchange unfortunatly the website those files were on isn’t there anymore.
Anybody happen to still have those files around? I have a .max file to move to blender
