By the way I have never used a reference when modeling
References will improve your modelling 100%…errr, ok so i made that statistic up but it’s pretty amazing the difference it makes.
You could maybe start by moving the eyes closer together and then pulling the sides of the face back slightly to round it off so you dont have that hard(ish) edge going down the side of his face.
