It’s good to see people going ahead and posting as they start out.
The Gingerbread dude from the tutorial - I guess all I can say is you followed it well, but then, everyone’s first model’s that little guy so there you are.
I like the gumby man. Starting out on your own creativity! Aardman animation is starting to make some brilliant things with CG created placticine lookalikes so it’s a fun direction to follow. Did you use bones to lift that arm or just modelled him that way?
The sign shows you’ve got the basics of image mapping. The real fun begins here when you start playing with UV mapping!
You might want to have a look at some lighting tutorials. My laptop screen always makes things look too bright, so everyone used to complain that my renderings looked too dark. Yours look too dark also!
See if you can find a tutorial on the “3 light” system. It can produce some brilliant results.
