My floor looks flat for some reason.
It has normal map on but looks smooth in renders. Any tips on how to give it that asphalt texture? If I try doing displacement it will be tens of millions of polys.
Looks good to me, as far as I can tell in the first noisy image.
Asphalt is comparatively smooth and the lamps give off rather soft lighting, as it should, so there will be less “bumpiness”.
When I render it out on full 10k samples it’s still a bit noisy and then the denoiser makes everything perfectly smooth. It is supposed to be smooth but not that smooth. Don’t have the render handy but it looks way off, no texture whatsoever
EDIT:
Here’s 9k sample render to illustrate
And here’s denoised:
Personally i prefer to disable denoiser and use it just in comp. In that way you have full control on it (for example you can choose to not use it on certain object/area).
Furthermore, in this kind of scene (interior and dark), I’d give a try to a test render with less samples but a lot more light sampling (you can also try it on just a little portion of asphalt to see the result).
Hope it helps.
