My little tests on hair

Hi, as it is very popular these days
to play around with the new particle system i did my own
testings and this is the result. It is very easy to handle hair,
although sometimes my old PC is too slow for it.

I’m planning to do a tutorial only for hair creation.

Haha awesome…
i like how you got it to stand up…

You mean the third test,

thats quite easy i placed a Empty in the middle of the particles and applied
a spherical field to it. Then i just varied the “force strength” and keyframed it to achieve
the standup effect.

Could you please post your .blend file?

Neat, I’m gonna need to learn particles and hair and all that awesome stuff someday. You got the materials down on that really nice.

The setup is not really hard, here are the blend-files.

Remember to use the SVN-Version of Blender, otherwise you will
only see the emitter-mesh.
The first file contains a compositing-setting, but it’s not activated, so
you can forget it.

If you than open the file you will have to make sure that “softbody” is activated for the particle-system, what is probably not the case, as the “blendcache”-files are missing. After that press ALT-A in the 3D-Window so that the Softbody Cache will be generated, this may take some time.

Here is a screen to show you where to activate it.

Thats it. All material settings are contained, as for the testings they only consist of
procedurals.

Have some fun with it.
