My textured mesh looks weird in material viewport

Hi Artists!

I am working on texturing a male figure currently. However, at the stage of texture painting there are some issues with how the material viewport looks.

This is the material node im currently using:

and this is what the mesh looks like in material view

when I mute the skin texture

the image appears like this

when i mute the normal map node however,

then this is the outcome

Can anyone let me know what is going on :stuck_out_tongue:
