From The Fruitless Quests Of Nabiu
I love the style! it very cute with his round head and little clothes.
think you could share some info on how you built it?![]()
Lion’s share was done like a few months ago
Hat’s shape took like 8 tries to get right, current one clicked once I thought of it as a mix of potato chip and cowboy hat
Its just geometry with Solidify and subdivision, then some Blur attribute of vertex group around rim for slight color gradient in material
Head’s shape started as UV Sphere with some extrusion on top so she look more like blueberry - later on had to hide that with Mask modifier as it was clipping through the hat
Happy and angry faces use default shape as base - with some extrusion inwards, tongue in both is the same as in Kirby and Boo
Round eyes use just two points with two geometry nodes setup and Shrinkwrap, first setup works mostly the same as shrinkwrap, second just instances half of UV Sphere on those points
Lines works the same, except of second setup - instead of Instance on Points there is Set Curve Normal and Curve to Tube, normal is sampled from main shape
Each head type has own collection, which then are instanced onto another object that is in right place, this way makes changing faces easy
Robe’s whole shape is controlled with three circles - head, neck and bottom
Each circle has its own vertex group, from which spaghetti of geometry nodes setup Separate and make geometry, another setup cleans a bit UV made in first one
There are also Garment Wrap setups made by hariedo for each arm, to minimise clipping through
Overall shape can be changed with just moving vertices of those circles around, it aint perfect but worked well enough, i like that original shape can be shape keyed as Basis
Hands and legs use the same geometry nodes setup as in Bill Cypher and Mismatched - its Mesh to Curve with extra geometry instanced on ends then realized and merged by distance
Wizzro’s chair from photo was made in separate scene - with background and chair rendered separately, then just combined in compositor, saved as separate file and plastered on approximation of polaroid, slight bend made with Curve modifier
Floating text’s box made with extrude, bevel and another extrude, text itself also made with geometry nodes
Question mark and front cover of Bestiary were mostly traced from reference, pages done with geometry nodes
Echo Rod uses is just mesh to curve for main part, then UV Sphere on top, little “hands” made with Skin modifier
Background on all renders was made in compositor, nothing fancy
Oh wow thank you, very cute character!
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
