NDOF settings

Can anyone tell me how to configure NDOF settings so that it works like it did in 2.65a?

In versions 2.64 and 2.65 I was able to pan, rotate and zoom without using modifier keys. I need to be able to do that again. This is the way it works in all other CAD and poly modeling programs I use.

Here I found a reference to restoring the 2.64/2.65 functionality by “swapping keymaps”

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Ref/Release_Notes/2.66/Usability#Matcap_in_3D_viewport

But I don’t know what they mean or how to do it. Can anyone help please?

Well, I finally got it working correctly and thought I would share for those of you NDOF users similarly baffled and frustrated:

I should mention the screenshot is from file > user preferences > input > 3d view > 3d view (global.)

I also reverse almost all axis etc. in the left-button popup in the 3d view and crank rotation and panning to the maximum 4.

Thank you a lot!! I was just looking for this.

This should be the default setting in my opinion, it has no sense not been able to use the 6 axis without a modifier key… cause it keeps both hands busy.

#Edit: not so sure about if this should be default, i’m gonna try a little bit and see how it is. What do you think? Anyway it’s great to know it can be changed so easily.
