Thought I’d share this with the community as I found it handy for my latest project. Have just finished working on a beast of an animation which had a very short timeframe, meaning I didn’t have the time to give Cycles the samples it needed to give completely clean results. I already had a noise reduction plugin called Neat Video, so thought I’d try it to reduce Cycles noise. Worked like a charm. Not as good as upping the number of samples, but we don’t always have the luxury of longer render times…

Loving the similarities Cycles has with camera footage. I was explaining how the render engine worked to a cameraman the other day and I made a comparison between the samples taken in Cycles and the shutter speed of the camera. Brilliant.
