Need a professional indie animator willing to work on MLP Animations for $130-$140 per minute!

I’m looking for an animator willing to work on My Little Pony and Equestria Girls animations for $130-$140 per minute.

Now, PLEASE read this ad through carefully. Do NOT just blindly apply without reading.

I am willing to pay $130-$140 per minute for each scene, for scenes between around 1 to 5 minutes, maybe sometimes a bit longer.

Here’s what I’ll do. I’ll pay in installments, like half upon half completion, or partial upon partial completion, and the rest when completed.

Only apply for the animation job if you’re willing to understand and respect these rules, because I’ve had people apply for the job who clearly did not read my guidelines, and wanted me to pay upfront, despite me clearly stating that I wanted to pay half upon half completion, and the rest when completed.

And those people who made me pay up front ended up scamming me, and for that reason, I’m never paying up front again.

I need to see clear proof of work being done first, and only THEN will I pay you the first half, as soon as I get my donations from my supporters.

I also want to see consistent updates and WiPs, and I also do NOT want to be ghosted. Only apply for this job if you plan to reply consistently, because I’ve had a lot of ghosting issues with animators, and I really do not want that.

I need as many animators as possible working on these projects. I have several already working on it, but I’d like to have even more so episodes can be released even faster. Hopefully once a month if possible.

So again, to reiterate, I need each animator who applies to be willing to accept payment after completion, or half payment upon half completion, the other half upon completion. You’re free to put a watermark over the animation if you so choose.

Your animation also needs to be at least professional indie level. It doesn’t need to be anything Disney or Pixar level, just good enough to be for a professional indie fan project based on My Little Pony.

If you’re interested, provide your portfolio, as well as your Discord, and type a message saying that you read my entire rules for animation, and if you agree to it, tell me in your message that you agree.

Looking forward to doing business with animators!

PS: Payment is through PayPal ONLY. No CashApp, No WeTransfer, no Boosty, PayPal only. That’s final. And with goods and services.

I said this elsewhere referring to this topic, and I’m going to say it again here:

I’m not going to defend OP’s attitude nor his communications. However, I will defend his payment.

It’s entirely possible to put out a minute of 3D animation a day as a single person. We’ve done it several times at work. If it takes you eight hours to do a minute, that’s $17.50 an hour. That’s triple minimum wage and it’s way more than flipping burgers pays. The fact of the matter is, if you want a full-time job with benefits, you’re not going to find it on this site. The job posting on this site are overwhelmingly small indie projects where a freelancer would work on multiple projects for multiple clients at the same time. And $17.50 an hour is fantastic for freelance, if you’re in college or just graduated and need experience. My freelance work out of college, to keep food on the table, paid a couple dollars an hour. I would have loved this opportunity back then.

Cut him some slack on the payment, y’all, he’s paying artists and he’s paying them a lot. He could just use AI but he’s choosing to pay artists. If we drive all the people who want to pay artists off the site with pitchforks because we personally don’t work for their payment rate, they’re going to stop paying artists. Be grateful that there are people paying artists out there. And if this job isn’t for you, that’s fine, some starving college student needs it.

Joseph: I am not disagreeing with your conclusions at all – I agree it is nice to see Brandon finally offering better than $10 per finished minute – but one of your premises is confusing me.

In the interests of being fair about wages, could you let us know where you are that minimum wage is at or under one-third of $17.50 an hour, a.k.a. $5.80 USD/hr or less? Bearing in mind, that’s 80% of the USA’s federal minimum wage of $7.25, which itself is a flawed and economically-depressed figure that has not seen an inflation adjustment in seventeen years?

You’re taking “a third” far too literally. The minimum wage in the USA is $7.25, as you said, and that’s the minimum for this site. The difference between your two numbers is a quick approximation, “a third” was not intended as literally 33.333%.

To your point about the fairness of minimum wage- it’s an interesting discussion but not relevant. The standard is based on things as they are, not as we want them to be
