Need Cuteness tips

So, bukeqi (pronounced boo-keh-chee) in Chinese (Mandarin) is “You’re welcome” in english, “de nada” in spanish, “du rien” in french… and this little bear does nice stuff (like gives you a cup of berry tea) to everyone so he’s always saying You’re Welcome. So, is he cute? cuddly? c&c thanks. Planning a series…

Good work, I shall be watching for a woot movie thing

he/shee looks drawin! REALLY GOOD!

maybe some little white circles in their eyes (shinings) , and nose and mouth upper would make him cute enough?
Good job!

I’ll try using softer color changes, specular and shadow makes too much contrast.

I was thinking the same XD

Thank you everyone! Very good tips, I must agree with all of them. I am/was using the Toon shader on max, and will experiment with with softer transitions. I really like the phong shader…maybe experiment with combinations. I will talk with the artist (my daughter) about the smaller mouth; she was adamant about an anime style, but maybe that is just if the mouth is open; closed it can be small like Ash et al.

And thanks for the link 8bit, i never knew there were rules, but it is neat that someone actually has taken the time to sit down and think about what makes little furry animals “cute”. Amazing what you can find on the internet.

Yeah, the second one makes him look not as creepy, and instead more cute.
