Does it at least look smooth in Blender? If it doesnt, maybe you could split all edges by accident. It is unlikely, but I dont have any other guesses
Yeah, it does get smooth in Blender. I’m just wondering if my topology is too sub-par for the baking…
Topology is definitely a non-factor here. You can bake even triangle soup made by Decimate modifier, if there are non-overlapping UV coordinates
I see. Well, I’ll investigate further and hopefully make a positive change.
Finally, I reached a solution thanks to you guys, @DeckardX08 and @joseph. While I smoothed the normals of the low poly, I forgot to the same for the high poly, which is why I got quite pixelated results no matter how I adjusted my baker. Now, I’m off to reduce the polycount of the lowpoly by following the recommended video of Joseph.
