Need help with rendering camera issue!

Hello! Very new to Blender. Made a few rigs before, and now I modeled my room! But for some reason, when I press F11 or F12, it gives me a grey screen. I don’t have any keyframes, I tried deleting and creating a new camera, setting my camera as the active camera, even copy pasting my entire scene on 3 different files. When I originally copy pasted my scene to a new file, F12 worked, but after I did it a few times WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING, when I pressed F12 again, it was blank. I have no idea what to do anymore and I don’t want to copy paste everything to a new file every time I want to check the rendered view. Does someone know how to help?

Hello and welcome to blender artists  !

It’s very hard to tell what’s going on from here, any chances that you upload your file ?
It’s likely to be a small thing somewhere but can’t say for sure just like that !

Have fun !

Does this still happen if you delete all the objects and replace them with something different? Does it happen in the starting scene with the default cube? That would help figure out if it’s something about this scene in particular or if your system has a compatibility problem.

Well, that’s what your camera seems to be pointing at - nothing:

If you place the camera outside of the room and point it to something that is not lit, that’s probably what you get.

F11 is not for rendering, it just opens the window with the rendered result.

So with all that in mind, I am not sure why you would expect anything else.

Place the camera somewhere where it sees anything, or you could also cheat a little and adjust the camera’s near clipping plane, so it can look through the walls:

Also maybe you keyframed the camera accidentally and so if you move it and then hit render it jumps back to its keyframe:

keyframe

I have no keyframes, as I stated in my original post.

The first picture in my original post shows the scene with the camera’s perspective (achieved by pressing 0) and you can see I have a light source there, so I have no idea why it would just be pointing at nothing.

Forgive my terminology regarding the F11 thing, still a beginner at all this.

I have no idea why, but when I opened the original file, F11 and F12 are working again. Not going to complain, though. Thank you everyone for trying to help me!

Great ! Spirits of CG and 3D are on your side today
Have fun with your scene and in your 3D journey !

Computergremlins… they are real.. :winking_face_with_tongue:
