PLEASE BE AWARE!!!: I was commisioned by this user to produce work! After a considerable amount of work had been completed, the user ceased communication and payment was never received! I strongly advise avoiding dealing with this individual!!!

Yep, me too! I don’t know why someone would do this. Do yourself a favor and save five hours of time.
Sorry to hear about that guys. I insisted that he pay me a deposit but told me that he’s been “burned before” when doing that. Was about to do some work for him then ghosted me. Thankfully I didn’t initiate any work but I suppose it’s a reminder to make sure we collect that deposit!
Thanks for your replies guys. Sorry to hear you’ve were robbed also! I’m usually quite adamant on 50% upfront. However, on this occasion, my enthusiasm to work overided common sense…it won’t happen again! This kind of behaviour is theft and needs to be called out. It’s a scourge on the community!
We’re investigating this situation. Until then, I recommend you do NOT do any work for this user.
Also, always keep in mind that any deals that you make are between you and clients. Blender Artists does not play a role in any contracts and cannot offer you any legal protection.

Same thing with me, I sent pictures about progression of the work and never get answer from this person. but didn’t send any file to him

Same thing happened to me. I didn’t expect this in the blender community, I always considered it better.
I’ll share the images I got from him, and the work I’ve done(luckily not that much), that way if anybody sees anything similar we’ll know not to fall for it again.

this forum is a great platform for us as blender artists to make money from our work (and I am sure that many of you have made a lot thanks to this forum)
But as Mr Bart said , this forum don’t have any role in how we made deals with clients…it is just between us and the client in private message or emails or any other way of communication and I like it this way because I like to be free in making deals with clients
