Need tips on how to animate large hair braids of my character

Hi, I would like to ask for tips on how I could rig and animate my character’s mane/braids (shown in the picture) to create the same movement with the reference video below. I’m relatively new and would like to know the best approach to do it. Tips about doing it outside of Blender is ok too, I’m willing to invest time to learn other software to finish my character’s animation.

BTW I will only be using it for a cinematic-esque video. I won’t be using it for games or anything. Just a scene of him fighting some enemies and jumping around.

The best way, though not a simple way… Is to Rig the braids or long hair…
Either make the Bones, B-Bones, or use one of the different Wiggle Bones type addons. You can also use simulation with either a Soft Body or Cloth Sim.

I use the cage method with a cloth sim as I just find it easier than Soft Body Physics…
