Hi there , this is my entry.
Good luck to everybody!!
Here is my entry, I hope I made it in time. The character was inspired by the “Barbarian Minotaur” by Brahim Azizi, on the Blender Guru competition page. I didn’t have much time for the background, it was thrown together in a hurry. The whole project took exactly 8 days, however, they were all very long days. It was made entirely with Blender (2.69). I did actually use Gimp to create some of the textures though.
There are a lot of really great entries. The clown, Deer-guy, and the pirate were all great, but I really loved the mermaid (although it’s not really my preferred genre). There were a few others which I really liked but I can’t remember right now. I’ll have to go back through and give props.
This is actually my first post, but I would like to be part of the Blender community, and I hope to get to know some of you. Good luck to everyone.
This is really cool, great job! I love the way my eye is drawn through the scene. Good Luck.

I create this character with many influences like Carlos Ortega, Disney, Pixar and a few others, the reason I used the case instead of using a contrabass is because originally she was going to carry it but didn’t like how it looked.
I used mostly blender, only used photoshop for the textures and controlling levels after render, used cycles, 2000 passes, it took like 2 hours to render.
Title: Pequeña pelirroja de pelo corto que toca el contrabajo
(In english is little short haired redhead who plays contrabass… without realizing I made the girl of my dreams)
Sorry for my english
This is more VFX than a picture. The photographic part of the image is from my city Logroño in Spain, the character is rendered in cycles and its actually rigged and ready for animation.
After effects and mudbox where used. The main reason to use mudbox was the use of UV tiles. Actually the character has 10 4096x4096 tiled textures so maybe it deserve to be “out of contest”. Anyways here is my contribution to the thread.
The story behind:
Many times in fashion, we can see models posing for photographers in a cool environment.
Now, imagine that monsters also pose, which also have a sense of beauty and love made photographs, ¡¡¡They also choose environments they find interesting!!!.
Prety weird sense of humor i know. Hope you like it guys.
bye:)
Great character!!! I love her pose and her whole look. Congratulations.
