I just started it two days ago(I could not decide what to make, lol), and I won’t be anywere near a computer until after the comp. I know I won’t win, but I had a lot of fun doing it, and I learned a ton. Thanks Andrew for holding these contests, they really help me get better as an artist. I am sure I will work on this more after the contest is over, but for now it has to stay as is.
Here’s an update on mine. Just working on that pose and expression right now and then going to fix some deform issues in the elbows. Then I’ll switch over to cycles for the final render. Going for a mix between the 2 movie posters and thinking I’ll keep the purple lighting since a lot of the movie stuff is either in black and white or crappy color-movies-just-invented look.
Err, Also not quite happy with the cloth look yet.
This is my entry, hope you like it! It is inspired in the prehispanic civilizations of Mesoamerica and some of their legends about battles between light and darkness.
wait? have they? sorry, i guess your model stands out more than the others and i’m not really calling you out i was just warning you not to post more than one image on the entries thread. i’m sure the reasons will be obvious
any way as a general practice WIPs are presented in there own thread. images posted on the competition thread are usually the finshed peice or a placeholder almost complete peice just to make sure something is entered in case they miss the deadline. these might be the WIPs your seeing.
anyway just letting you know
Here Is my entry, a character out of a picture that made me laugh and that includes some of the fear of some people (not me, i like they) to circus clowns.
Hey…here is my entry. Was fun doing everything in Blender. I usually use Photoshop and Zbrush a lot but for this entry I only used photoshop in preparing my photo textures to be used in Blender. Most of the texturing is just a combination of baked out maps combined with tileable textures and some details painted over that.
There is a lot more I could have done with this but I am moving on calling it done!..my computer is tired of endering it now…
This is something i was preparing for a competition. I was wondering to put it here at the end, since there is some stuff that i would like to change/add. But, hell why not
