new easy way to model a hand

i did this wen i was frustrated there was no easy way to model a hand, so i decided ide do my own way, the pic i am posting is a crappy one cus i didnt do topology. just cus i wanted to see wat happend. this is wat i did

make sure you have a reference image or it wil be very hard.

  • i added a single vert. then add a subsurf modefier
  • placed it at any finger joint’ knuckle
  • then extruded so i had 3 verts at the joint
  • then duplicated with shift d
  • and placed it at the other side of the finger on the same joint,
  • do that for all the joints
  • then make faces across the knucls
  • then ectrude to outline the fingers
  • do it with al lfingers
  • so all fingers should now be outlined
  • then ectude down so that the palm of the hand is caged with quads
  • select the whole mesh and extrude-region on the y axis now you should have a hand

since the other model is crap i totaly redid the palm to get good topo-g

since this is in the modelling section i can technically ask questions so heres one

do i even need topology in the palm cus it realy doesnt need to be deformed. the reason is i want to get the rinkles in the palm to show and the only way i can think of is to knife it and that would screw up the topo-g

i would go ahead and use the knife tool on it, if it’s not going to deform much.
