Can I have two tabs opened, the same time?
Really important to me. Especially when they try to implement tabs under sculpt mode.
I can’t start a flame war about what belongs where. It is useless. No one can tell an artist how to group his-her tools.
Tabs are still unreadable to me. I just click on them until I find what interests me.
With CoDEmanX’s help, I’ve got a patch that enables tab transparency for the actual tabs, outline, and the tab background. This great improves the theme options.
This is not yet in the master branch, it must be reviewed and accepted first. But if you compile Blender yourself and want to try it out you can find the patch here: https://developer.blender.org/D285
This is quite possible. I’m certainly not opposed to trying it, I’m just focused on getting the initial implementation finished first. Lots of things to add
This is all very nice work. I wonder though if there is room for one thing - that when you press the sideways tab, that it reveals as well a same word header that is read at the top of the panels in a normal direction, so that clicking through the tabs you can still read them at the top as headers. This might be something that makes it more ‘readable’ for others that are not English origin readers. Just a suggestion, I know that the work is almost already normalized here.
Interesting idea, not sure how to make it look good however… Maybe billrey or other UI designers?
Might be a bit redundant and thus waste space. You’re not supposed to read tabs whole day long, so… once you know the tab position, there should be no need to read the vertical text. Or maybe use subtle gray icons later on?
@michalis: dat symmetry, there’s one time i worked so hard beautifying the ear of a sculpt only to realize 15 minutes later that symmetry was off, (now of course you’re thinking push symmetrize stupid) well i got asymmetrical detail already in place and that is not possible. it’s kinda annoying, but it think part of it was my fault. knowing the limitations of the ui, i should have checked, but yeah improvements are welcome.
also brush size/strength, dyntopo strength values on the cursor as you change would also be a plus. this will really hasten things up.
IMO symmetry shouldn’t be displayed as a button, but as a secondary brush circle that shows up on the mesh when symmetry is on. Buttons are not a good way to provide feedback.
Indeed, better have an indicator on the brush cycle. Maybe a different color.
Of course, in zbrush we have these dots, very useful when radial symmetry is in use.
But, we don’t like to copy other apps, right? :eyebrowlift:
The issue with pinning and ctrl+click is reported as bug.
I could go further and propose ctrl+click to become the pin unpin and the shift+click to be used for the other function. This brakes some tradition in blender and it’s up to Jonathan.
