Nice, nothing beats hacking away at some polygons from the peace and quiet of a semi rural block in good old NZ 
I’m not too much into modeling — I’m more into Geometry Nodes, materials, compositing, and simulations.
All the better if it’s specialized. FX and shater wranglers are always hard to find.
I’ve been using Blender for about 6 years now. Since I have lots of time, I decided to start making YouTube tutorial videos to share tips and tricks, and show some of the amazing things that can be created with Blender.

Moved to aussie when I left high school 1978 because the old man had found work so family duly followed. I’m from Taupo originally and did occasionally pop back across the ditch visiting relative’s but not for many years now also a blender user since 2.4x (2005’sh) mechanical hard surface by trade plus over last few years been learning ins outs of game art.

If I pick up the world globe and put one finger where I live (Spain, Catalunya) and the other on the other side I get to New Zealand!
I was lucky enough to go to Dunedin (for work), and I loved it, stuning place and really great people. Albut the 46 hour ride to work - + 46 hour back 
It was well worth it.

Oops! should’ve edited my post, re-reading looks well rather ambiguous anyhow what I meant by the monica “mechanical” simply refers to my 3D discipline hard surface modeler basically manufactured objects mainly automotive subject matter, heh…I’m a dead-set closet petrol head also might add military ordnance nerd as well

I’m always doing other things at home, and since I’m a bit ADHD, I usually have about five projects going at once. Right now, I’m finishing up recording a Geometry Nodes tutorial for my YouTube channel.

Strangely I’ve only set foot in the South Island once my entire life. I believe was 12yo at the time, mum and us kids day tripped on one the inter-island ferry’s between Wellington and Picton. My lasting memory was the extraordinary scenery sailing through Queen Charlotte Sound, purely magic experience.

Nice! One of the areas where Blender excels in my opinion. Had a few colleagues in the automotive industry, back then they (coming from VFX) were the first ones to use poly modeling in production.
That’s happens many times if someone grows up in a country. I moved to NZ in 2015, first thing I did was a south island road trip - From Picton to Abel Tasman, west coast to Queenstown, down to Fjordland and back on the other side. Best trip of my life, hands down.

Was diagnosed four years ago with PTSD. I had served in the ADF (Australian Defense Force, Army) for 7yrs throughout the 1980s (peace time) experienced lose of mates through suicide or training accidents so believed amongst other tragic incidents was a contributing factor hence lodged a compensation claim January 2022 with DVA at the insistence of my beloved elderly aunt, a war widow and may I say very canny lady besides 
Thus far, an up hill battle contending against entrenched bureaucracy because my case is categorised as “undocumented” i.e. no mental health records to support my claim, I mean if I had seen a psychologist or similar therapist would’ve been a career ender plus societal stigma at that time made it practicably impossible too overtly seek help.

I’m envious, should start saving for a similar trip before ones opportunity to do so no longer exists.
