Newbie needs help! Very simple!

:o Hi, I am fairly new to blender and I have a couple of questions. How do you split your working area into more than one window? (Like in the example that comes with blender.) Is game blender part of the same program or is it seperate? Any if it is part of the same thing, how do I use it, and where do I get info on it? Lastly, does anyone know where I can get a good AVI to GIF convertor.

Thanks for your time, Fred.

You split a window by going to its border, press RMB (Right Mouse Button) and select ‘Split’ from the menu which pops up. Use ‘Join’ to Join

For second question Game Blender is included, but your games are .blend files unless you have purchased Blender Publisher.

Look at the realtime forum for more info.

Last question I don’t know, but I can recall it has passed on this forum, so just search!

Happy blending

Stefano

Just remember that the window that will split is the last one where the mouse pointer was. Also it works with the middle button (if you have a 3 buttoned mouse)

And if you want to save your setup for further needs, you can store it above the 3d window. There is a button left to the field “SCR:screen.001” So you don´t have to split and join windows all the time.

You can use the left and right arrow buttons with ctrl to switch the screens

ctrl up and down arrows maximizes the window you are in.
