Newly added hair particles appearing a random places.

Hi,

I’m working on a rigged model of a boy in blender 2.63. I’m having trouble with creating hair ( including eyebrows and eyelashes). There are 2 issues here:

  1. Even after creating v groups for scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes, the hair particles are not contained in the v group area. They are emitted even from the nose and lips too. Also if I try to add particles manually using the add tool, clicking on the forehead is creating particle inside the ear and clicking on nose is creating particle anywhere but the nose.

  2. multiple copies of the same hair particle are created from the same spot ( from 2-8) such that if I set the simple children to 10, it shows 20-80 children instead of just ten. And this happens for almost half of the total particles.
I can manually delete if they are a few but in 1000 particles, its very annoying.

I have used hair particles on multiple times before, but never had problem no.1 before. Is there some problem with my mesh?
Problem no.2 does happen once in a while but can be taken care of.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jai

Hey,

I just moved the particles system modifier ( under Modifiers tab) to the top even before the armature modifier and it worked. At least the first part of it. Now the particles are created according to the V groups. Its strange and I still don’t know why I had to do that to fix the issue since I didn’t face this issue with the previous models and never had to move the particle system modifier.
The duplicate particle problem still exists though. And this has been a consistent problem. I have faced it in this previous models as well.

Thanks,
Jai
