NIeuport 11 WW1 Plane

Hello!

Ok, For the last 3 months I Have spent many hours creating this aircraft.

Sadly due to a limited amount of blueprints on the internet I have had to play alot of it by ear which hasnt been easy at all.

I originally posted this project on another website which you can view here (http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=311515#311515) but because the majority of the community on the website dont specialize in high poly modeling I havnt been able to get the advice, judgments and criticism that I need to make this truly successful.

So for that reason im reposting my project in this forum and on this website.

What I would like from you are your views on this aircraft/project, what you think I should improve on and advice etc… Whatever you want to share and say, or infact anything you like for that matter then please share it, all comments are welcome.

So here are the renders in Yafaray (These are the most recent images from the project).

Nose cap/hub and Crankcase (Note: Engine has not yet been completed yet, currently the crankcase and nose cap is completed).

Without bolts…

AIrcraft render (Note: Wires and rudder controls/connections).

Wheel (Note: Not yet fully completed).

I have a Huge collection of renders aswell as wireframe images, these can be provided upon request.

What do you think so far?:eyebrowlift2:

It looks great! I never really was good at modeling planes… Anyway, one question, and one suggestion.

Question: How many lamps do you have in that scene?
Suggestion: You may want to soften the shadows a bit by raising the samples on the lamps (hit f5, then click on the lamp button). Best of luck on your project!

In answer to your question I put seven sunspots and 6 lamps placed in a ‘C’ shape round the nose.
Also thanks for the tip, ill try that later on.

It’s a good basic start, but it needs a lot more detail.

Check your model and then see this image I found on Googling http://hyperscale.com/features/2002/images/nieuport11gc_5.jpg

Look at the detail in the in the side panels and in the shape of the cross-section of your struts. Also see stuff like the brake-assembly on the interior of the wheel.

You have the overall form nailed down pretty good, which is 80% of the battle. It just needs a bit more attention to detail.

Good work, keep it going!

KK Thankyou for the crit
