Nikorai-do | ニコライ堂

On the day of memory of St. Nicholas of Japan I’ve made a 3D model of the Resurrection Cathedral in Tokyo, or, as the locals call it, ニコライ堂 (you didn’t skip katakana lessons at school and you can read this without any problems, right?).

The most difficult thing was to model not the cathedral itself, but the buildings in the background: in order for them to look good at night, I had to create a primitive, but still interior that would be visible through the windows. For this reason, geonodes were used, because completely manually working out each room is very tedious (even if the processing comes down to placing lamps on the ceilings, well, maybe curtains and blinds).

The modeling took about 33 hours (according to another estimate - about 39 hours).
