What’s going on? I activate the stars option in the world settings, but when I render the image, they’re not there! I can see the white dots where they should be in the 3D view, but all that displays in the render is the background gradient. YAA! Someone help! Why is it broken?!?
Do you have “Mist” enabled? Try to turn it off.

Actually, those setting were correct. Amazingly, I stumbled upon the answer myself! I had Edge effects enabled, and apparently that is somehow incompatible with the starfield rendering. I disabled Edges and the stars appeared!
Yes. Is there a way we can have stars, wether halos or the generator, to be rendered when “edge” is enabled?
I’ve been trying to do a “toon” opening but the stars will not work.

might be possible as a composite…or render layers in the cvs builds…however they work.
