That’s what I am saying, IMO it would look a whole lot better with something in the background.
Maybe, but i think is has a lot of visual detail in the middle so empty space gives the eyes some rest and sets the focal point clearly which is this weird character. For me he kinda looks like a human made from clouds so the light pinkish background gives it hazy character and contrasts his dark nature. I’m not saying this to prove you wrong and I don’t think I’m right just trying to explain my logic behind it
