I have a feature request.
The loaded node will be placed in the currently saved location
Can I place it in the center of the editor?

Saving a distant node will restore it to a strange location when loading.

By default, all nodes will be loaded in their saved location, Node Kit just saved node’s location and load them back in that location.

Which Distant Node has been loaded to a strange location? Can you make an screenshot on it?

The current state is not a bug.

If you recreate the previous location, you will lose sight of the node if you reuse part of a larger node.

For example, when you copy a node in houdini, the center of the node group is laid out at the cursor position.

So you want to be able to load (or restore) nodes in the cursor position?

Yes. I want it.

But while you are loading the preset, your mouse cursor is not in the Node Editor. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a workaround you can try:

  1. Load your nodes
  2. Just drag and move your mouse on the nodes you just loaded

This workaround can move around your nodes you just loaded.

Oh certainly.

If restored to a location outside the screen, I don’t know where to go.

Use your middle button of your mouse to zoom out and you should see the nodes you just loaded, but in this case, you should be carefully do the dragging because your nodes looks smaller after zooming out.

Well, but
I want you to load the center of the node group to the place where the current node editor is displayed.

I just tried some keyboard shortcuts, and found one.

After loading your nodes, press Home key in your keyboard, it will center your nodes in the display.

Try it, and let me know if it works for you.

Thank you very much. It worked.
You have to move the node, but that’s simple. :grinning:

This update makes sure you don’t lost your presets after reinstall it or re-enable it.

Version 1.0.8 :

  • Keep presets after reinstall/re-enable Node Kit

Hey man. I was trying now to export from 2.8 to 2.82. Using 0.1.7 on 2.8 and 0.1.8 on 2.82 but I get errors when loading the successfully imported presets. Missing Data-Block.

Thank you for your feedback.

Since 2.82 just released, i have not tested the add-on with it, can you provide two things:

  1. The exported json file
  2. The error message

Since then, i will take a look on it.

Hi, Just update to version 1.0.9 which I think fixes the issue reported from @LMABit .

Version 1.0.9:

  • Fix: A error while export from blender 2.8 and import to blender 2.81 and 2.82
