normal map not working


here you can clearly see the normal map is not doing much


however you can clearly see that its working perfectly fine in some areas…


here you can see the bake in substance painter, there it works perfectly fine.

and im not doing anything fancy with the nodes either.

and the scene is noting interesting either. only lightsource is form the world sunlight, but i found myself having the same problems when using sunlamp and point lamp aswell…


if this is not enough information i will provide with resources necessary to recreate the issue.

This likely isn’t the solution but one thing I see is in the image node change it from ‘color’ to ‘non color data’. That’s the proper option for non diffuse/base colors (normal map won’t look correct otherwise).

Check to see if the material is applied to the entire model.

that actually did solve it. i thought non colour data was for images with only 1 channel, ae, greyscales.
