Not perfectly uniform light?

If I see an actual house light fixtures, most of the time, they are not uniformly bright. Probably because there are small LED’s inside of them, and they do not uniformly light the outer shell. It seems that using the emission shader is not equal as adding a light object, but the light objects (area, spot, point) are all uniform. So, they brighten the room differently. Can I achieve the lighting of non-uniform light fixtures?
