Nudists try to sell a book...( semi nudity warning)

For those that think we never do figurative work in lux

This started out as a luxrender test but turned out even more interesting imo, who lets these people into their home in the middle of the night without a “agenda” right?

this is a test of dougal’s env maps… : http://hdri.uk.to/

Very nice render… but… why are they bald?

heh, they are monks  it is hard to do hair in lux because there is not a strand renderer yet, but we don’t say that, they are monks

oh ya, btw I can re-render this without the table np, just let me know

I like the expression on the females face… also the sss looking thingy on the cloth is nice

the cloth is using a material called “rough glass” in lux…really there are other ways to do hair clearly, even to the point of just doing video game character hair, but I got used to the particle system in blender and have yet to take the time to figure out a a really good way of doing it in lux.

I am glad you noticed the expression, while these are really just test figures I worked for a while to get her face right heh. I have other more advanced versions of these characters now but these are great for skin and light testing because the render really fast.

Thanks for looking

hehheh. oh man.
the guy’s left arm pit deformations look a bit strange…
also. ahem… what is she doing with her fingers exactly?

weird, but fun.

heh, ya he is a old version of a model that I have totally rebuilt but I like to use him for these kind of tests and also he is creepy in a fun way I think, as far as her hands go heh, the idea was to suggest a defensive gesture, I to thought it looked like she was <censored> but I showed it to my girl friend and she said it seemed defensive, so a bit of thought went into that hand gesture tho I am not saying its right.

<rant>The main point here is to show that you don’t need SSS to do skin tones in unbiased rendering, in fact I have never liked SSS for human skin for a lot of reasons, I like the way absorption is working with those figures personally better then I would SSS which I don’t think really models whats going on with skin.</rant>

More experiments with absorption in a matte - glossy mixed skin texture…
