Object launching.

Hey! Does annyone know how to launch an an object in the blender physics engine?

Define ‘launch’?

Like if you were to throw a ball. I wan`t to throw it softly.

Animate a rigid body…

Yeah, but then i have to do the keyframes manualy. I want to launch it. Imagine a canonball. I want to give it velocity in an axis and then bake it to keyframes.

Animate the launch manually, and then switch your rigid body from animated to non-animated…

Hey, this is Moby

If you haven’t already, you should check out my tutorial on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfezSJB21vk, it comes with a template you can use to make your own simulations. I launch things by key-framing a plunger to sort of push the ball.

Since then I’ve found a much more versatile way to be just to use a forcefield, with a “maximum” influence so that it affects only the object you’re launching.

If you have any other questions about my videos feel free to ask me in a comment on YouTube, I try to reply to those
