Odd UV problem when unwrapping cylinder.

So I’m making a sword’s grip, and something keeps messing up when I unwrap the Cylinder.

I have marked seams around the middle of the Cylinder, so that should usually do it but it doesn’t, and for some reason its acting really odd.

Did you make sure there are no duplicate vertices? Which unwrap method did you exactly use?

I’m using angle based, which I read on the wiki is good for non organic shapes. And I have checked for duplicate vertices and haven’t found any so far.

Conformal is usually best for non-organic and Angle Based for organic. Switch between both and use just use the one that gives the best result. More important than which method is good seam placement.
