Just a simple question: is there any kind of Blender official Assets library that any newcomer can add/turn on(like addon) in Blender3 to have access to community made assets from within Blender, and that library being constatnly updated and new items appearing with each upload when someone contributed to this library and it has passed requirements check?
I mean something like APT-GET/Synaptics Package Manager in Linux or Google Play Market for Android
If there is not, then what are the obstacles for doing such centralized asset library that anyone can contribute to?
Mostly how to keep a reasonable quality, “everyone can contribute” and handling storage/servers. There is the blender cloud addon, but I think it’s mostly textures. You could look at the site blendswap.com
I’m not entirely sure that project is really going anywhere, at least not any time soon.
No recent commits, and they’ve nixed all their shaders because they decided what they had wasn’t good enough. Instead they added some ugly toon base meshes with poor topology. Plus it’s never intended to be a large library of community made assets.
For community made assets within Blender, @Magre_Yun is probably looking for something like BlendKit, even if it’s quite commercial with variable quality and of course not official.
