Opening bl file but not in material mode?

i got a small PC
so when i open a BL file which has been saved in material mode
it can take minutes before becoming responsive again

so is thee a way to open BL files but bypassing the material mode and be in solid mode for instance?

if you expand the options panel on the right side of the open dialog, you can uncheck ‘Load UI’

This will open the file, but with your default UI setup, including viewport display modes.
