Openxr/ vr / oculus

Hi,

I’m trying to get my oculus rift to work with the blender 2.83 openxr/vr feature, however I keep running into errors. My oculus is working fine and I’ve installed the vr addon and launched blender using the blender_oculus.cmd file, but I get this recurring error :
failed to get device information? is a device plugged in?

I also get this extra info in the console window :
Connected to OpenXR runtime: Windows Mixed Reality Runtime (Version 100.2003.19009)

It looks like it’s trying to connect to the windows mixed reality runtime, even though I’m using an oculus. But that’s just me guessing as to what’s happening

Anyone run into the same issue or have any tips?

I also encountered the same problem

I faced the same problem and exactly the same error message, but now my oculus quest 2 is just working fine with blender. What I’ve done is the following:

  1. I connected the HMD VR (Oculus) through USB 3 cable.
  2. I’ve set up my oculus device firstly with my mobile, so I tried to disconnect them by restarting oculus.
  3. Ran the oculus desktop app, once I’ve seen desktop Oculus Home dashboard with my headset, I went to blender, started VR session and voilà!!
