Orange is overlapping with the green

Hey guys,

I have been doing blender since January of this year. I am having this problem with my jackolantern mesh with the orange merging with the green, and wondered whats the best way to fix it? I tried UV unwrapping, and deleting and re bridging but nothing works. Your help will be great!

Thank you!

Edit
Ok sorry if you mean that the transition is not a straight line maybe you need an edgloop to clamp the subdivision.

This looks like it could be the result of subdivision with bad topology. If the stem’s polygon structure isn’t made of even quads, it could stretch in weird ways.

Part of your problem is that the shape isn’t correct. Let’s look at a real pumpkin:

Notice the top doesn’t go out, and up. It goes inward, then the stem sort of caps it.

If you shape it that way in your model, then it’s easy and trivial to make the stem a separate object and texture, and for it to look more correct.

Exactly part of solving a modelling problem about mismatching or that “it doesn’t look right”, always check and revisit your references (or improvise, adapt when is not that simple, like modelling something that you can’t find good detailed photos online or when don’t have the object in your hands).
