Outliner questions

I’m getting stuck using the outliner a 2 points:

1. I have a lot of trees, I hide a lot of them to try out different designs, I know where they are, but I don’t know which ones they are in the outline. Is there a way I can see hidden items in the viewport so I can pick the one I want to unhide without unhiding them all?

2. When I select an item in the viewport, I can’t find it in the outliner. Often I need to select the parent item to move it, I don’t know the best way to go about this. Is there a “locate in outliner” button somewhere that I’m missing?

Hover cursor over Outliner and press “Numpad .”
It’s for “Frame Selected”, same as in 3D Viewport.
