Greetings fellow blenderartists!
I have a paid job for animation/VFX work on a short film/dance video about someone who feels trapped under the unrealistic expectations of social media. This is a non-commercial personal project, but my standards are demanding – I aim for professional quality. You would get a credit at the end of the film. Happy to offer a competitive wage based on your past experience/portfolio. See this sample clip for an idea (can’t upload here because I’m a new user – despite being a long time peruser!). You can learn more about me and my previous work at https://www.ctrout.art/ =)
Skills/knowledge needed:
- Boids+basic blender physics – (intermediate/expert)
- Animation – (intermediate)
- Geo nodes – (beginner/intermediate)
- Materials animations – (beginner/intermediate)
Additional skills that would be a plus:
- Compositing – (expert)
- Alembics – (beginner)
- Manual (i.e. hand drawn) Rotoscoping, preferrably in DaVinci Resolve – (intermediate/expert)
The work:
I have a system of boids playing off the dancer’s moves. Again, please see clip to get a better idea. ~75% of the work is already done (by me) but I recently got very busy and need help getting over the finish line. Once the boids choreography is done, I would like to add some, on beat, mesh+texture glitch effects with geo nodes and material animations. Once that is done, there may be an opportunity to help with final compositing and rotoscoping cleanup work. I can give you more details on all of this before you commit to anything.
Timeline and Location
Ideally all this would get done within ~ a month (if worked on full-time), but my timelines are flexible. Remote work is totally fine, but if you live in/near Boston, USA and are willing to meet up once or twice, that would be a big plus! I’m an in-person kinda person =)
Next steps
If you’re interested and you think you’re a good fit, please reply below with maybe a quick statement of motivation (no more than a few lines!) and link to your portfolio + description of past experience (can be bullet points!).
If you prefer applying/getting paid through upwork, here is the link to my post there!
Thank you for your time!
