Overall I like the idea! The Panda is cute.
But you could consider making the ears bigger and the strands more thin. Anwyay - simple and cool.
I think that it is very cute. I, too, would consider the ears being a tiny bit bigger. I would also do something about the background. It looks flat and detracts from the image.
Maybe put a bamboo table top under the cup? It would also give you shome shadows to play with.
