I’m trying to figure out how to change the speed of the particle. I need to control it. Also, how to have some color variations with the warp line. I tried Halo but that failed so I used a regular diffuse material. I am in the process of adding one more light and the ship material.

You might try looking at the new-ish Particle Info node in the node editor. I think you can get hold of the particle lifetime etc, and vary the colors according to the particles life. Not sure what will happen with your lines.
I have used the particle’s velocity information to vary its color as it accelerates downward with gravity. Pretty cool capabilities.
