Paste one objects mesh into another objects mesh?

Hi,
I"m New to blender and this forum.
On mac OSX.

I’m trying to figure out how to load the mesh of one object into the same edit area of another objects mesh. Basically copy and pasting.
Example: Take a mesh of a head in one blend scene, and a body in the other. I want to copy the head’s mesh and paste it into the edit area of the body object. so that i can attach the two meshes into one continuous mesh object.

I tried the append function,Which was advised in other posts which is cool, but so far all I’ve been able to do is replace one mesh with the other in object mode…
i want to Add to the existing mesh.
The python script Geom tool, http://www.hybird.org/~guiea_7/
seems to do what i want (mesh Copy/paste)
But i couldn’t seem to get it to run on my mac.

Hope my question is clear, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Jason

Welcome to the forum.
So if I understand you correctly you have 2 meshes, if I follow your example, one head and one body. When you say you tried the append function, so that means you have two .blend, one for the head and one for the body? If that so, append one mesh with the other in the same file, you will have then the 2 objects in 3D window.
Select both of them in Object Mode and press Ctrl+J to join them in the same mesh. Then, enter in Edit Mode to stick the head to the body.

Hi,

Sorry about my slow reply, it took me awhile to find my own post :-P.
Yes! Thank You, that was exactly what i needed.
I knew blender must have a simple solution for this.
