Vintage Public Payphone -Realistic 3D Prop
A realistic hard-surface reconstruction of a vintage public payphone, created from visual observation and multiple real-world references rather than being directly reproduced from a single reference image.
The main goal of the project was to recreate the overall construction, proportions, functional components, and worn industrial character of an older public telephone while allowing the design and modeling decisions to be developed independently.
The asset was modeled with attention to the manufactured construction of the object, including the main enclosure, recessed front panels, handset assembly, keypad, card reader, cable system, panel seams, bevels, small mechanical details, and surface imperfections.
For the texturing, I focused on creating an aged painted-metal/plastic appearance with subtle dirt accumulation, scratches, roughness variation, edge wear, and printed decals to give the asset a believable history of real-world use.
